An extraordinary interview with the hostess and wedding planner of the castle, Marianna Ivánkovits.

I had the chance to participate in an extraordinary conversation with Marianna Ivánkovits. She certainly knows the castle and its park like the back of her hand. She saw it before it closed and was part of its renovation and reopening. Here she talks about her own experiences and the weddings she has organised at the castle.

alomeskuvo.com: Hi Marianna! I'm in a lucky position because I know you intimately, I know what a great job you do every day. Your story with the castle goes back a long time, tell us how did it start?

IM: Yes, yes. I was 25 years old when I was accepted to the castle, just back from Italy. I fell in love with it at first sight, I knew I had a lot to do, but I enjoyed every day, right from the start. To see it and know what it was and what it became, to know and live its history, to be part of it... I think I could tell you a lot about it.

alomeskuvo.com: You can tell that this is a special relationship, did you have experience in wedding planning or did it all start with the castle?

IM: Although I've been around the world and have been involved in the planning and execution of many events, when I started at the castle I had no experience in wedding planning, I was a real novice. The castle was a challenge but I enjoyed every minute of it. The wedding itself is a very special event in the lives of the couple and I worked to make their big day as beautiful as possible.

alomeskuvo.com: Can you highlight your favourite detail or anything that you like best about the organisation?

IM: There is no particular detail, it is the journey itself that gives me pleasure. Getting to know the people you are marrying, understanding them at a glance, without words, takes experience and routine. However, now that I think about it, perhaps there is something I would like to highlight. The ceremony in the castle courtyard, when the bride walks down the aisle with her father, holding her arm, accompanied by a harp, and her fiancé sees her for the first time, that's special. At the end of a long process of organisation and planning, their eyes finally meet and their life together begins.

alomeskuvo.com: It's really a unique moment, have you ever doubted yourself? - because it's wonderful, but it's also a big responsibility.

IM: No, never. Everything has its challenges, but I wanted the best for everyone and I did my best.

alomeskuvo.com: How do you see much has changed in the profession?

IM: Oh, yes. There are more options, more providers, more stimuli for those getting married. There are many who come with a plan, a definite idea, whereas in the past they were more likely to rely on what I suggested based on the ideas. So yes, it has changed.

alomeskuvo.com: Why would you choose the castle as your venue?

IM: This cannot be said, it must be seen! You can find out more on our website, but if you would like to visit the castle in person, please feel free to contact me and I am sure that you will find it a love at first sight.
